My son joined I Can Read shortly after we moved to Sydney and has been learning here from Year 3 through to Year 6. We are so grateful for the support and guidance he has received over the years. A special thank you to Leanne, who has been such a wonderful teacher. She is patient, encouraging, and genuinely cares about her students. With her support, Lincoln has grown in confidence, strengthened his reading and literacy skills, and developed a real enjoyment of learning. The entire team at I Can Read has always been warm, professional, and supportive. We truly appreciate everything they have done over the past few years and highly recommend I Can Read to any family looking for a nurturing and effective literacy program.

Our daughter has been attending I Can Read for the past 6 months, starting when she was 3.5 years old. She has now completed two terms, and we are amazed by her progress. She can already blend and read some simple CVC words and has become familiar with all the phonics sounds. Most importantly, she genuinely enjoys going to class and always looks forward to her lessons. She often tells us that she loves her classes because they feel more like playing while learning. We are very happy with her experience at I Can Read and excited to see her continue to grow in her reading journey.

My son attended I Can Read for several years before moving on, and we still fondly remember the good times whenever we drive past the centre. The teachers and staff were always professional and accommodating. During the COVID period, I often sat in on my son's online lessons and was impressed by how well they were conducted. Our interactions with Miss Sue were always warm and kind, making us feel very welcome. Thank you for providing such a positive learning experience for my son, Yi Kang.

I am quite disappointed with my experience. If your child is naturally able to sit still, follow instructions, and learn independently, this centre may work well for them. However, if your child is more active and requires guidance, encouragement, or behaviour support to stay engaged, this environment may not be suitable. My child falls into the latter group, and over the past two years there has been little to no improvement. Instead of providing strategies or support to help him develop the ability to focus and learn, the response from the centre was simply that he has not passed the required level. It feels like the teaching approach is mainly focused on children who already meet expectations, rather than helping those who need support to get there. As a result, children who struggle to sit still or engage are left behind, without meaningful intervention. I would have expected more proactive support, communication, and a plan to help my child progress, rather than just being told he has not met the standard.
