For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

JC Dragon is a solid go-to if youβre craving classic Chinese dishes done well. Their sweet and sour is easily one of the best in the area. My wife, who really misses the quality she was used to in New Zealand, said this is about as close as it gets β which is high praise in our household. The black bean beef was also good, full of flavour and cooked well, making it a great complement to the sweet and sour. Portions are generous, so you definitely get value for money, and itβs the kind of place where sharing a few dishes feels both satisfying and easy. Service was fast and efficient, perfect for a casual dine-in or takeaway when you want good food without a long wait. Overall, great flavours, big servings, and reliable service β weβll happily be back again.

19/6/25 - 3 stars Came here as part of a company dinner, so, don't have any accurate gauge of how much each dish cost, but, based on items listed on the wall, the value is poor. The restaurant is quite small and very rudimentarily decorated. Service is passable, though, not sure why they didn't use the turntable to serve and insisted on squeezing past everyone. The culinary experience was ones of ups and downs. There were certainly good dishes, but, some were ordinary and I felt that the preparation was a bit lackluster. The best dishes 1. Pepper and pork stomach soup: SS, 9/10. Surprisingly aromatic and flavourful. Strong pepper and pork taste with none of the odour. 2. Stewed tofu and eggplant in black bean sauce: S+, 8.5/10. - well prepared and flavours balanced 3. Lobster: S+, 8.5/10. Pepper and cream sauce was pretty nice. Dishonorable mentions 1. Lamb: B, 6/10. Tough and not particularly fragrant 2. Eel: B, 6/10. Not cut into fillets. Bones were bothersome. Still retained a lot of fishy flavour. 3. Abalone: A, 7/10. Very ordinary. Not sure why a plate is $36

We ordered the crab set meal and were pleasantly surprised! There was plenty of crab roe, and it was incredibly delicious and fresh. Even the noodles were soaked with the rich, fresh flavor of the crab. The two of us, despite not having big appetites, couldnβt resist eating a lot of noodles! The service was also excellent.

Good stuff, we have tried quite a few of their dishes. We especially like their crispy noodles and peppery pork stomach soup. The seafood is very fresh, we have tried their steamed fish and lobster noodles and both were also very good. Service is friendly, they donβt chitchat but theyβre not nasty to customers either, just very efficient. Lunch prices are pretty decent.

Went in for lunch. A decent menu with many different dishes to choose from. Got the wagyu with garlic butter and e-fu noodles. Texture of noodles and beef were perfect. Flavour wise, it wasnβt too bad at all. The beef could have been seasoned a smidgen more with some salt, however, apart from that everything else was perfect. Great value for money (most menu items come with a free drink). The majority of menu items range from $13 to $18 and the portion size is quite decent also. Customer service was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back to try more menu items. 11/8 - Went back in today and had the chefβs seafood noodles and fried rice with pineapple and chicken. My friend said the noodles were delicious and perfectly seasoned. My fried rice was really tasty and also seasoned perfectly. Was very flavourful. Restaurant was way busier on the Friday for lunch service than it was on Thursday.
