Had an amazing 2 week stay at Mad Monkey Coogee! Staff were amazing, Lucy especially on reception was a star🌟, so welcoming throughout our stay. Anna who organises the events was fantastic and the housekeeping staff were great vibes🙌🏻 Met the most amazing people in this place & the location was superb, literally right at the beach!

I had such an amazing experience, and a huge part of it was thanks to the incredible staff. Anna M. (events), Elisa (housekeeping), and Lucy (reception) all stood out in their own ways. They are extremely sociable, professional, and genuinely great with guests. They made everyone feel welcome and created such a fun, comfortable atmosphere. What really says a lot is that even while traveling along the East Coast of Australia, I kept hearing people talk about the outstanding customer service here. That kind of reputation doesn’t happen by accident, it truly reflects the quality of the team. You can tell they all care about what they do, and it makes a big difference in the overall experience. I would absolutely recommend this place based on the staff alone!

Comfy beds, friendly staff and beautiful location, will definitely be coming back On arrival Antonio was extremely kind and helpful, offered to get our bags for us and carry them up 4 flights of stairs, gave us information about the area and helped us upgrade to a better room when we realised we had no ceiling fan in the basic room Everyone in the rooms was respectful and nice, had our own shared apartment shower which was quite nice and very clean, as too was our room and bedding. At checkout mads was very bubbly and friendly had a nice chat about our time in Sydney and where we were from. 10/10 experience, will be back

I’ve stayed at this hostel twice now, and both times have been amazing experiences. I travelled with some friends, and we absolutely loved the location, the atmosphere, and most importantly, the staff. A huge shoutout especially to Viggo and Ruby💚 They are genuinely some of the most welcoming and kind people. They always took the time to chat with us during events, gave us great tips about Sydney, and just brought such good energy wherever they went. They’re always smiling — even when cleaning the rooms, they’d come in with a smile and ask how we were doing. Honestly, they were a big reason why it was so hard to leave the hostel. I’ll really miss them. On top of that, the hostel has cozy and fun events every day — from more chill ones like pancake nights to the wilder nights out at local Coogee bars like CBH. Highly, highly recommended! 🌟

What a fantastic experience at Mad Monkey! The hostel is a paradise right on Coogee Beach, with clean dorms, modern bathrooms, and super cozy common areas full of social vibe, like a rooftop and equipped kitchen for partying every night. The best part? Antonio, the Italian worker who makes you feel right at home: friendly, always ready with a contagious smile that turns check-in into a chat among friends. I recommend it to all backpackers, 5 stars well deserved, I'll be back for more waves and laughs! 🏄🏻♀️🌊✨
