About Maydanoz Restaurant Bar

Maydanoz is an Aegean Turkish coast inspired bar & restaurant paying homage to the region's vegetarian and olive oil driven casual meze bars. Managed by the team behind Efendy and Anason.

The menu is based on produce driven delights of Aegean region of Turkey, rich in culture and variety of the produce, dairy and seafood, cooked over wood fire.

Located at 1/50 Carrington St, Sydney NSW 2000, Maydanoz Restaurant Bar operates as a vegetarian serving Sydney in New South Wales. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under turkish restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. Typical hours are 12โ€“9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (02) 9427 9789. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a mobile. Its website is maydanoz.com.au, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 672 reviews, which is a strong result for a vegetarian in Sydney and suggests consistent service.

Sydney is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Getting around Sydney is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy centres, and most suburban shops have their own car park. Public transport and ride-share apps such as Uber and DiDi operate across New South Wales's larger cities.

We had a lovely night at this gem! The food was excellent. We tried the muhallebi, Taramasalata, beef tartare, and ร‡รถkertme Kebap with potato pave, and everything was beautifully executed. The real standout was the potato pave, crispy and golden on the outside with a tender centre. But what really elevated the experience was the service. Matt looked after us throughout the evening with genuine warmth and attentiveness. He was easy to chat with, made us feel completely at home, and his recommendations were spot-on. Weโ€™ll be back for sure!

My mum and I had the most wonderful evening at Maydonoz for a special event hosted by Chef Somer, and itโ€™s one of those nights weโ€™ll be talking about for a long time. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was simply extraordinary. Every dish was a standout, but a few deserve a special mention: ๐Ÿค The kadayif prawns were an absolute highlight โ€” crispy, indulgent, and perfectly balanced. ๐Ÿฅ— The rocket salad with figs looked deceptively simple, but the flavour was unbelievably good. Proof that great ingredients, done right, need nothing else. ๐Ÿณ The quail eggs on cilbir toast were cooked to absolute perfection โ€” one of those dishes that makes you stop mid-bite. ๐Ÿซ™ And the tarama dip with simit? Mouthwatering. We couldnโ€™t fault a single thing. Service was equally impressive. Oscar was attentive, warm, and genuinely made the evening feel special, exactly the kind of service that elevates a great meal into a memorable experience. Chef Somer himself was the cherry on top. He moved through the room with such warmth and generosity, making time for every guest, sharing lovely conversation, and signing cookbooks for those who purchased them. You cou

Had a wonderful dinner here last night with a friend. We shared several dishes including the halloumi and whipped feta dip, which were absolutely incredible with the bread. For mains we ordered the chicken, kingfish and lamb. The lamb and kingfish were especially outstanding โ€“ perfectly seasoned and great for sharing. The coconut cocktail was also delicious, lightly sweet and refreshing. Perfect to start the dinner or even as a dessert drink. The staff were very friendly and attentive which made the whole experience even more special. The location is also fantastic, right near Wynyard Station and close to Barangaroo, making it a great place for dinner followed by a walk. Overall, everything from the food to the drinks and service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Took my client and team to Maydanoz Restaurant Bar for the set menu and every dish was superb, beautifully executed, bold Mediterranean-Turkish flavours with excellent variety and quality. The food consistently impressed and made for a memorable group dinner. The only minor drawback was our seating facing the bus stop, which slightly detracted from the atmosphere. Still, highly recommended for both business and social dining.

I had lunch at this restaurant today not knowing anything about it and wow, was I surprised in the best way possible! The food, ambiance and service were absolutely phenomenal. We ordered five dishes between the two of us and they were all delicious. There were so many other dishes that I hope to try the next time, but we just couldn't order them all! Ekin was our server and she was incredibly friendly, always had a smile on her face and was happy to explain each of the dishes to us. Each time my water was needing a refill, it was noticed straight away and one of the staff members would come immediately to replenish it. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff just make you feel like you're at home. And I am definitely coming back to try more dishes. I highly recommend Maydanoz to anyone looking for a good meal, a good time and some friendly faces.
