Eating out in Australia ranges from beachside takeaways to hatted dining rooms, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. If you have dietary needs, most kitchens will adapt a dish if you ask. Licensed venues serve alcohol; BYO places let you bring a bottle for a small corkage fee. Tipping is appreciated but never expected.

Our second time visiting this gem! We discovered this as we were walking by and wondered if it was the same β€˜Towzen’ we had visited and loved in Kyoto, and it was!! Everything we had so far has been sooo amazing!! The Ramen broths are so soulful! The karage lion mane is amazing and the gyoza is yummy too! It is a vegan haven! We have been very warmly served by Roxy each time, and she is soo sweet and welcoming, we instantly feel at ease here! The service is brilliant, the place is well kept and very clean. This is our go to for any occasion in Sydney now!

I visited Towzen Sydney for my birthday with my family and had a wonderful dining experience overall. The ramen was incredibly delicious and full of flavour, while still being mild enough to enjoy comfortably. Next time, I’ll definitely try one of the spicier options. The vegan karaage, made with lion’s mane mushroom, was also a standout. I normally dislike mushrooms, but I absolutely loved it. The manager and staff were warm and friendly, and we chose to order directly through them rather than using the QR code. This meant we could ask questions and receive helpful recommendations. It would be great for the restaurant to continue actively offering diners both ordering options. The only part of the experience that could have been improved was the handling of the birthday cake. We had brought our own cake, but instead of having it plated or presented for us, we were simply given the box back with a knife. As Towzen is still a relatively new restaurant, this may be something the team is still developing, but a little more care in moments like this would make the experience feel even more welcoming and hospitable. Overall, we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I’ll

The best vegan ramen restaurant in Sydney! I highly recommend the truffle ramen, fragrant and very rich broth. Price is a bit on the steep side but offset by the high quality ingredients, top notch service and beautiful, zen-like ambience! The gyoza and karaage were also very delicious. First timer here and will be a repeat customer. Thank you for the most beautiful dining experience!

From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're greeted by a wonderful atmosphere. The ambiance is warm, relaxing, and inviting, creating the perfect setting for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. The menu offers an excellent variety of dishes, with plenty of options to excite the palate. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food arrived remarkably quickly. During my visit, I ordered the lionsmane mushroom karaage, cold tofu with sesame dressing, okra with yuzu mayo, and their signature ramen bowl; Si Chuan Tan Tan Men. For dessert I ordered the Japanese soy mylk pudding. Every dish was exceptional. The food was beautifully prepared, showcasing how simple ingredients can be transformed into something truly memorable. Each plate was packed with flavour, thoughtfully balanced, and absolutely delicious. Without hesitation, I can say this is the best vegan restaurant I have visited in Sydney. The quality of the food, combined with the atmosphere and service, made for an outstanding dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to vegans and non-vegans alike.

Disclaimer: late review as I dined at the end of November. I have never had vegan ramen before but this was surprisingly lovely. Between the 4 of us, we ordered a mixture of the Si Chuan Tan Tan Men and Kyoto Soymilk ramen. I personally preferred the former as it has more depth of flavour and I mostly just tastes soymilk and nothing else in the other ramen. We also tried yaki gyoza and karaage. The gyoza was definitely better. The karaage lacked taste and umami. We finished off with the soymilk pudding which was delightful and so silky smooth! A definite must try and great palette cleanser. My only negative is the serving sizes for the price you pay. They could of definitely been more generous especially with the noodle portion. I also thought all the drinks were very overpriced although they were nice. It got the seal of approval from my mother in law who is vegan and very picky about eating out at restaurants!
