The state of the betta fish is abysmal. They're all kept in tiny little bowls and containers, they have an information sheet saying the minimum tank size for a betta is 10 L which is the bare minimum and 20L is the minimum for a comfortable fish (it also depends on the shape of the tank, a tall tank is worse than a shallower long tank.) As well as having bettas that are barely colourful because they're so stressed out and in murky water, there was a dried, dead betta fish that jumped out of its bowl and was on the shelf. Their website says they get all pets from licensed breeders but they only really mention dogs. People treating fish as disposable just because they can put them in a tiny container and ignore them is horrible.

I’m at pet town quite a lot and I do love it. However some of the rodent cages/fish tank sizes are not at all suitable for their animal. I am very happy to see they have added a new betta tank with instructions on proper care though. Last thing is that one of the aquatic plants they sell, purple waffle, is actually not aquatic and will rot and die within weeks if fully submerged. This causes ammonia spikes and further nitrate spikes which crash aquariums. These plants are meant to be grown in an above water humid environment so please replace them with a better plant 😫😫

This is how the betta fish are being kept in this store: in extremely small containers, some of which appear to be cracked, and in visibly unclean conditions. I politely asked one of the staff members whether the fish were always kept this way. She responded in a very aggressive and defensive manner and pointed out the shelf where betta aquariums were being sold, seemingly to divert the conversation rather than address my concern. I found both the conditions in which the fish were kept and the way my question was handled extremely disappointing. I would strongly recommend avoiding this store and not supporting it with your money.

We recently purchased our first toy Cavoodle and had such an amazing experience at Pet Town Chatswood. Izzy and the team were incredibly supportive, caring, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout the whole process. They took the time to answer all our questions and made us feel confident and supported. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and highly recommend this store!

Excellent, exceptional and very good customer service. My wife and I went into the store with no plans to get a puppy but was recommended a beautiful Toy Cavoodle that we truly adore and love. Thanks for the staff member who showed recommended us our puppy. Our puppy has given us so much happiness and joy and I would highly recommend those looking at getting a pet to visit the pet shop in Chatswood who are very accommodating and excellent.
