Royal Palace has been around for decades and consistently delivers authentic yum cha dumplings with traditional trolley service—perfect when you’re starving and craving yum cha all week. We just dived in and quickly gobbled up the delicious dumplings. The staff were extremely friendly, with plenty of choices to choose from. Decades later, the food is still fantastic. Highly recommend.

One of my favourite Cantonese restaurants in Sydney. The seafood is always fresh, and the mini hot pot was a pleasant surprise. I’d definitely recommend the abalone and the wagyu, both were really well prepared. The overall dining experience was very enjoyable. the food came out at a good pace. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and even the restrooms were well maintained.

⭐⭐⭐ Royal Palace Seafood Restaurant – Decent food, but the hard sell left a sour taste A bit of background: Royal Palace Seafood Restaurant is a long-standing Cantonese seafood spot in Sydney's Chinatown – the kind of place with grand chandeliers, big round tables, and that classic old-school banquet hall vibe. It's been around for years and has a reputation for fresh seafood, though it's definitely on the pricier end. We went without a booking – walked in at 5:30 PM and got a table straight away, no issues. The place itself is comfortable: clean, nicely lit, and the atmosphere is pleasant enough. So far, so good. Now, the food – we ordered roast pork (siu yuk) and char siu. The char siu was pretty average – the marinade lacked depth, and there was no caramelised edge at all (which is the best part, honestly). Without that smoky, slightly charred finish, it just tasted flat and uninspiring. The roast pork was cut into massive chunks – way too thick – and would've been better if it were more finely sliced like you'd get at a proper specialist roast meat shop. That said, taste preferences vary, so maybe that works for some people. The seafood – we ended up getting lobster, which

Had dinner here recently and really enjoyed the experience. The service was good from start to finish, attentive without being over the top and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered the lobster, oysters, roast pork and a few veggie dishes to share, and everything was fresh and full of flavour. The seafood in particular was excellent and nicely cooked. The restaurant itself is comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere, and the amenities were clean and well maintained, which always makes a difference. Overall, a solid spot for a quality Chinese dinner and we’d happily come back again.
