Starting with a poor quality of install we then found that in a power failure our batteries did not support the house. This is because we need more parts, I assume at more cost. I requested pricing for this as I wanted it done as this was why we went for batteries. That was in Feb 2022. It's now July 2022 and I still haven't been contacted by anyone except marketing who tell me they have put us on the list to be contacted. I think the name of the business should be explained to the support team. Then we come to savings, not what I was promised and the way power is managed seems flawed. We often get to the end of the day with batteries at 10%. All in all not the experience I expected and not the performance I was promised.

I have had my system in place for just over 3 months. I have 2 batteries as well as the back up device if the mains power fails. My installation is very good and I congratulate the installer. He told me to place a "roof" above the system as it is under the eaves and I have covered the gap between fence and gutters.

Social Energy did take awhile from signing up to completion but overall i was happy with the service never had a problem contacting and talking about any issues. Still to early of getting the full benefits from solar and battery due to Autumn and winter but i say it will be great.

We purchased a 14kw battery system, which was installed in Dec 2021. Our first bill in Jan 2022 was $2.79, which was awesome. However, with all the rain and bad weather we have had since February, our bill has averaged $42.26 per month. This is not bad considering the weather. We are hoping our bill will steadily decline as the weather improves with more sunlight. In terms of the battery, in the past 6 months, we have had no issues. We have had 2 blackouts during this time and the backup system worked. We got phone calls from the neighbours asking how our lights are still on. The system is not cheap, but we see it as a long-term investment.

I am very happy the equipment that has been supplied and since the kit was installed we have used almost no power from the grid. HOWEVER!!! The delays in installation were terrible. It is understandable that it may be hard to lock in a contractor running up to XMAS, but Social Energy had very little knowlegde about what had been delivered to our house and what was sitting in our carport for 4 months. The installers were great and did an amazing job considering they completed the install in a single day. BUT since then, the bill has not been changed over to theVPP so I am not getting paid for the 30kWh or so that I am feeding in to the grid everysunny day. After 4 or 5 calls to Social Energy with endless promises that someone will call me back .... I have still had no tech support. On one occassion only I managed to get through to ahelpful guy on the call centre - but every other time, since installation, I just get what seems to be an offshore call centre. In summary - I love the promise, I like what has been installed, but the service is incredibly bad. I would not recommend the company to anyone in future.
