TenTo was such a great find. I tried both the salmon ramen and the grilled salmon breakfast, and each meal felt carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The salmon ramen had a rich, comforting broth with plenty of flavour, while the salmon itself was generous, tender and perfectly cooked. The grilled salmon breakfast was just as impressive: crisp on the outside, moist inside, and served with a lovely variety of Japanese sides that made the whole meal feel balanced and satisfying. The handmade ceramics and thoughtful presentation made everything look even better in person, and the photos barely capture how inviting the food was. A warm, relaxed spot with genuinely excellent salmon dishes. I would happily return for either meal.

We had lunch at TenTo and left genuinely impressed. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience felt welcoming and thoughtfully done. Every dish we ordered was beautifully prepared, fresh, and full of flavour. The Breakfast Setto was satisfying and well-balanced, the White Fish Carpaccio was delicate and refreshing, and the Chicken Karaage was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside. The Homemade Shoyu Clear Chicken was light, comforting, and packed with rich, clean flavours. The drinks were just as memorable. The Coconut Matcha was creamy and refreshing, the Sesame Latte had a wonderfully rich, nutty taste, and both the Kyoto Matcha Berry and Hojicha Crumble were unique, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. It’s clear that great care goes into every item on the menu. A special thank you to our waiter, Moss, who made our lunch even more enjoyable. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever being intrusive. His recommendations were helpful, and he made us feel comfortable throughout the meal with his excellent service. Checked out Tento in Surry Hills recently. It has this amazing vibe as a hidden cafe tucked away in an alley. We had nice cozy weather to have lunch outdoors, and it was really chill being surrounded by all the stylish stores and buildings. For food 🍱 , we ordered the salmon ochazuke, which was a bit small in size but tasted good overall. We also got the breakfast setto which had a great proportion, plus the chicken sando and yakibuta tan tan udon which were both delicious. For drinks 🥤 , we tried the mont blanc, which was good but I think Melbourne's version is better, and the strawberry matcha which was solid. For parking, we just parked at the public car park underneath the Woolworths Metro for $5 an hour. Overall, the meals are pricey but have good taste, and it is a reasonably okay price when you consider you are in Surry Hills. 🍵🍂

Tento has quickly become one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney. The food is incredible – fresh, flavour-packed Japanese dishes that never disappoint. Their drink menu is just as impressive, with creative cocktails and a solid sake selection that pairs perfectly with the meal. But what really stands out is the atmosphere: warm, lively, and effortlessly cool, with a vibe that works just as well for a relaxed brunch, lunch or dinner as it does for a night out with friends. Service is friendly and fast too. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favour – Tento is a true local gem.

I visited Tento for a random Thursday brunch. Great aesthetic atmosphere indoor with nice music. Foods are made for Instagram post as they decorate and present in such a beautiful way. Taste wide it worth to try if you are not a picky eater. Nice matcha, and I love the Mont Blanc thanks for the vanilla cream. Lovely experience overall with the service.
