About The Calyx

Home to one of the largest green walls in the southern hemisphere, The Calyx is a unique, show-stopping venue in the heart of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. The Calyx offers spaces for all event types. Whether you’re looking for an intimate wedding setting or space to hold a large business function, The Calyx has the flexibility that allows you to create a bespoke experience. Visit the Botanic Gardens of Sydney website and contact our venues team to discuss booking. The Calyx is also home to horticultural exhibitions, the current being Alchemy of a Rainforest, where you can experience the beauty and complexity of the rainforest. The exhibition is open 10am to 4pm daily (check the web page for event closures), with entry by donation.

Visited Clayn for an event dinner and had a lovely experience. The venue has a beautiful atmosphere within the Royal Botanic Garden, creating a relaxed and lively setting. The food was nice, and the overall dining experience was thoroughly enjoyable. A lovely spot for both special events and a hearty meal.

I really loved visiting The Calyx. It is a very small space, but absolutely beautiful and wonderfully put together. You can't beat the price either—only a $1 entry fee per group! It’s a perfect, quick stop to admire the stunning displays.

Visited the Calyx for a company event. The place was surreal, loved the live plants in the place, especially the vertical plants. It was really a nice experience to visit in the Royal Botanical Garden.

Wonderful place, friendly staff, many exhibitions of flowers and various plants. I recommend it as a quiet getaway, you can drink delicious coffee and have a snack nearby.

The outside venue looked pretty, but the inside area you paid for was very mediocre. It could be because I’ve seen other indoor flora closures that have been better . I’m glad I only donated $2 .. as I was only in there for 3 mins before leaving (very small). It might have better plants and displays other times of the year, the one I saw in April was not very interesting.
