Wonderful evening at The Great Northern for my son’s birthday celebration. The staff were amazing, helpful in organising extra tables and chairs for our guests. Food from the bistro was top notch (and we’re a family of chefs and foodies). We will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend The Great Northern for get togethers with family and friends of all ages. Thanks team!!

20+ years on and still a lovely family friendly and great late night out, catch up place. STAFF: Lovely, local, friendly and efficient staff who are constantly tending to cleaning, patron needs etc. FOOD: Great selection of fresh healthy salads, high quality big burger and chip meals, excellent steaks, vegetarian hot and cold meals, grilled salmon etc alongside plenty of gluten free options (from nacho's, to gluten free pizza bases and many more options in between). Prices are reasonable from $12-48 or so and kids under 12 may be able to also eat free! They also have a great selection of red, white, sweet etc wines and beers on tap. INTERIOR: Very large space that easily fits long tables of 20+ people, all the way through to romantic little nooks and seats by a fire place. It's super family friendly with high chairs and booth like seating options too. EXTERIOR: They also have plenty of outdoor seating, making it perfect if you have larger groups of eg 30-60 people. You order at the bar, get a buzzer and collect it from the counter area. There's also a dedicated smoking area. ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair, pram and walker friendly with wide open spaces and disabled access throughout. OV

We had a most wonderful night in the Southern Room for our State of Origin function - food was great, service as the bar was fantastic with .... (i cannot remember her name sorry) But she was great with our crowd. Only complaint well not really we got around it, I wasn't aware that you didn't accept AMEX corp card so had to use my personal. All in all great night, great result, Go The Blue !!

A couple doors away from home is good. Meals are big, love it. Yummy food. For me, not enough light, too dim in places but that could be the atmosphere the place is aiming for. I could imagine a great place to watch sports on the many televisions, whilst enjoying the food and drink.

Great for a stop to get out of the traffic heading up the highway and a lively change to the usual franchised food on a road trip! Easy park out the back streets on a weekday. Lunch special on Monday was burger for $18, got a snitty one that was like a full meal in a bun with loads of fresh crispy chips. Another diner had the lamb cutlets that you actually get 3 with loads of delicious mash and vegetables with gravy. Was pleasantly surprised and will definitely call back in when we are passing by!
