About Alberto's Lounge

Alberto’s Lounge is a neighbourhood trattoria with a Roman heart and a Sydney soul. The menu roams across Italy’s many regions, celebrating the kind of food that’s best shared – hand-cut pasta, house-made gelato, a buttery crostini with a perfect snap, and mains made for the middle of the table. he bar celebrates all things Italian, classic cocktails with a twist, citrusy spritzes, bold Negronis, and an Amaro list, curated with reverence and treated as a work of art. Inside, the mood is warm and unpretentious. Vintage Italian posters spanning the 1950s to 1970s capture the essence of Italy’s golden era of cinema and design, a celebration of Italian style and creativity from plate to paintwork.

Alberto’s Lounge was absolutely worth the hype! We started with the focaccia, Peperoni Buffalo and Crudo di Ricciola, every dish was beautifully executed, fresh and packed with flavour. The Peperoni Buffalo was a surprise favourite, while the kingfish crudo was delicate, bright and perfectly balanced. The Pappardelle al Ragù di Manzo was outstanding. Rich, comforting and cooked to perfection, it’s the kind of pasta you keep thinking about long after you’ve left. And the tiramisu? Genuinely up there with the best I’ve had in Sydney. Light, silky, indulgent and the perfect way to finish the meal. What really tied it all together was the service: warm, attentive and effortlessly professional. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back.

Almost a 5 out of 5 for us however the steak was quite rare and chewy for the price. The pappardelle was delicious and the pistachio and dark chocolate gelato was amazing. As a wheelchair user it was quite cramped and I feel it would have benefited from having some modular tables near the Entrance instead of fixed ones to create space for people with mobility devices. The Entrance was quite close to the gutter and the path was slightly sloped so it was quite difficult to get in with a power wheelchair and I imagine it would be a bit more tricky with a manual wheelchair. There is a curb ramp a few meters away from the entrance. The Entrance is a bit tricky to find also when you are heading northish up the Street you have to look out for the hidden sign and Entrance to the restaurant.

We came here to celebrate my wife’s birthday dinner. We booked a table for 5:30 pm. The service was very fast , all staff was very kind and super nice ! Thanks you all for make us feel so special I said to one of the woman staff im gonna give her 500 stars for the best service !!! and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and did not take long . We ordered 4 dishes ,the grilled squid was amazing with a nice smoky aroma. The spaghetti with pipis was the best dish of the night. The seafood tasted very fresh and full of flavour. The restaurant was clean, including the toilets, and the overall atmosphere was really nice and romantic, perfect for a dinner date. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommended for a romantic din

Took my partner here for his birthday from friends’ recommendations. It was Saturday lunch time and there were about 2-3 other tables, great time to come visit if you want to avoid the crowd and appreciate the cozy atmosphere. We were informed from beginning that the menu is designed for sharing. I simply appreciate transparency like this to avoid unnecessary food waste. To begin with, we just loved the focaccia’s light texture. Next favourite, the kingfish with capers tasted so fresh and the peperoni buffalo was also great. Then we had the deep fried lasagna and the pipis spaghetti. For me, these 2 dishes were slightly too salty. The spaghetti was packed with flavour though, so it’s a shame I couldn’t enjoy more of it. For dessert, we had dark chocolate and orange flavoured gelato, and wow the flavour was intense. All of the servings were generous and we definitely still ordered too much. It was well worth it.

It's a nice cosy restaurant in the city. The main door is quite hidden, very easy to walk past and miss it. The food tasted very nice but the size of dish is quite small, hence, a bit costly. The space between seats and tables is very narrow, so your seat can be accidentally pushed or moved by someone walking past. Overall, worth a try.
