About Scala Lane

In the small towns of Italy, food isn’t just about eatingβ€”it’s a celebration, a time to gather, laugh, and share stories that last long after the plates are cleared. We bring that same spirit to Scala Lane, where honest ingredients, bold flavours, and a whole lot of heart come together in every dish.

Scala Lane is an italian restaurant in Sydney, New South Wales. Eating out in Australia ranges from beachside takeaways to hatted dining rooms, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Sydney is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Australian addresses list the street number, suburb, state abbreviation and postcode, and Sydney follows the same pattern; a number like 2/411 means unit 2 at number 411. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My partner and I had such a delightful dinner here, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. Everything we ordered was spot on, especially the perfectly cooked steak and the amazing lobster pasta, and the sauces were full of flavour. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had such a warm, cozy vibe. Couldn’t fault a thing! We’ll definitely be coming back.

Delicious Italian food, however portions are quite small and the bill will add up. Came here for dinner and got the classic banquet ($88pp), with the: Starters Foccacia - 7/10, light and fluffy, but nothing extraordinary Burrata - 8/10, highlight starter and one of the better Burratas I’ve had comparatively Kingfish tartare 7/10, small portion but the flavours here blended well Beef carpaccio 6/10, good as expected Mains Pasta ai fungi - 7/10, loses points for the tiny portion but this was delicious, would definitely eat again Pappardelle ragu 8/10, highlight dish - the slow cooked beef was fall apart tender snd pack with flavour. Pasta was cooked to al dente. Dessert (not included in set menu): Tiramisu 7/10, served in front of you this was really light and fluffy - personally feel like it could have had a slightly stronger coffee flavour. Overall the meal was delicious, but even with adding the tiramisu it felt like almost not enough to feel satisfied after the meal. Atmosphere was very vibey though, without being too loud to have a conversation.

Loved the lane way and cosy atmosphere. Very sophisticated. Perfect lighting. Our waitress Bec was a superstar right out of the gate. Mocktail’s excellent. Entrees perfectly balanced, we had the beef carpaccio and burrata salad. Mains solid, ragu pasta and lobster pasta. Green salad great. Only disappointment were the over cooked fries. Absolutely won at the finishing line with the tiramisu. Theatrical service! Lots of personal touches and warmth throughout the evening. Highly recommend!

It was honestly great. I’ve been Cicerone, Tottis, Osteria, Fabbrica, Matteo, Italian bowl… This was the best pasta out of them all. The gnocchi!!! First time a restaurant perfected gnocchi. All dishes were delicious, no complaints. Service was lovely. The two ladies who looked in charge were so happy to be there. Tiramisu… Wow! Best one i’ve had and i’ve had a lot!!!! Very pleased with my experience

Scala lane has a great menu, soft homemade pasta and cool vibes with soft background jazz. We started with the zucchini flowers and kingfish tartare with hibiscus and green apple was interesting flavour set and looked amazing. Pasta mains were what we came for, the pasta was soft. We added extra prawn for $8 so we had one each. Watermelon margarita was also amazing and paired perfectly with our food Located in cute laneway, worth the visit
