For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

Went here with a few mates recently. Despite being younger than other customers, we were offered extremely professional service from everyone. Special shout out to Winnie who was especially helpful and patient when it came to us ordering. Surprisingly, drink prices were also fairly reasonable from my perspective with my only complaint being how they were sold out of a particular beverage we were interested in. Highly recommend!

While many reviews center on the sunset view, we went to Bar 83 at Sydney Tower, Sydney’s highest lounge bar, for its 260-degree panoramic night views 245 meters above the ground! We indulged in a premium experience with their unparalleled “Sky High Window Seats” package. The use of localized spotlights successfully minimizes window glare, perfectly enhancing the dark, romantic mood. We truly enjoyed our front-row seats to witness the extraordinary beauty of the Sydney skyline. ⭐ INSIDER TIPS & SEATING 1. Walk-ins: Based on our observation, there are still some window seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. 2. Timing: We arrived two hours before closing time, so a walk-in is a viable alternative to get assigned to an empty window table. 🚶 HOW TO GET THERE: 1. Head to Westfield Sydney and take the escalators up to the Gallery Level on Level 4. 2. Look for the dedicated Sydney Tower dining reception desk. 3. After screening you through a metal detector, the concierges will hand-write a physical "boarding pass" for the elevator. 4. Enter the capsule lift that rockets you straight to the 83rd floor! (Pro-tip: Swallow or yawn during the ride to stop your ears from poppi

The venue itself was nice, but it definitely felt quite dated. It wasn’t terrible and still had a good atmosphere, but for the prices you’re paying, I expected something a bit more modern and polished. The staff were friendly, which was a positive, but the table service was non-existent for us. Although others seem to not have a problem getting it. For a venue at this price point, I was honestly disappointed that we couldn’t even get the level of service you’d expect. We also ordered an espresso martini, and unfortunately it wasn’t great. The coffee flavour tasted semi burnt, and it had a strong gin-like taste rather than the vodka-based flavour you’d normally expect from an espresso martini, which was a bit strange. Overall, it’s a nice place with a great location and views, but the experience didn’t quite match the prices.

Bar 83 located at the top of Sydney tower eye overlooking Sydney with complete panoramic views. During my visit I opted for the sky high seats experience valued at $350 - pre booked which included which has a 2 hour sitting window Package 2 Beverage: 2 glasses of 2015 Perrier-Jouët ‘Belle Epoque’ + 2 cocktails the Perrier-jouët was a fantastic opening beverage, however the cocktails where overly sweet and basic, I expected much better for bar 83 Food ½ dozen Sydney Rock Oysters where fresh and delicious! The Vanella Buffalo Burrata was a stand out ! Creamy and full of flavour! The Prawn Rolls were a complete let down, tasted stale and pre made and kept in a fridge. The potato fries served with them were also which basic, like something you could have got from the supermarket and made in the air fryer at home. The 2 Australian Cheese & Charcuterie Selection with Lavosh again tasted pre-made and kept in a fridge or cool room, with cold crackers super hard cheese and not served with cheese knifes or cutlery. Finally Chocolate custard for deserved tastes like gas blow torch and again like it was undercover and left in a fridge uncover, somewhat stale and bitter. Ashy in flavour, Wa

We got gifted a lovely high tea experience at Bar 83. First off, the view over the harbour and city is absolutely spectacular. I would say it is worth going for the view alone! The service staff were all welcoming and friendly. The high tea came with a good assortment of sweet and savoury options. I think the sliders were the tastiest item on the high tea. The scones were probably the smallest scones I've ever seen, and the taste was just OK. Probably the only disappointing thing on the tray. Overall food wise, there are definitely more quality options for high tea. But again, you are really going for the amazing view and experience. One thing for anyone going for high tea, is remember to ask for your tea or coffee. We didn't realise it was included until after we'd left because it was a gift for us. But yes, tea or coffee is included. But no-one asked us if we wanted tea or coffee. They were probably busy so that's fair enough, but just remember to ask and I'm sure they will provide you with whatever tea or coffee you'd like! Overall, we had a great time. Definitely worth going for that wonderful view. But please consider improving the food, especially those scones!!!
