Such a beautiful spot for a special lunch or dinner. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the terrace seating in winter. It was a bit cold because of the wind, even with the heaters, but the blankets helped a lot. The sunset view was incredible and definitely the highlight of the evening. Highly recommend for a fancy dining experience.

Second time coming back. Cafe Sydney was one of those dining experiences where everything just came together perfectly. The food was incredible, full of flavour and clearly prepared with a lot of care. The cocktails and wine selection were just as impressive. What I appreciated most was the service. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and professional. They seemed to appear exactly when needed and otherwise faded into the background, which to me is the hallmark of truly exceptional hospitality. The view speaks for itself and it creates an atmosphere that's hard to match anywhere else in Sydney. Outstanding food, great drinks, impeccable service, and one of the best views in the city. I'll definitely be back again.

One of Sydney's top restaurants for a reason. After watching The Bear, as a formerly simple suburban gal, I understand fine dining a little more. Yes you may need to get a small loan to dine here. But... the food, the service, the views! Dropped a fork (refer to my former simple self), picked it up & kept chatting. Staff moved silently & stealthily & without even a comment I noticed the Floor Fork was whisked off & replaced with a fresh one. Pop to the loo? Your serviette will be re-folded for your return. Everything is top shelf! Mentioned my annoying vegan status & they returned with a whole separate menu. Food was incredible.

The view is great. That’s where the joy ended for my family and I. The service was probably the worst part, followed closely by the undercooked salmon with β€œsauce” that had the texture of paste. Some of the lowlights. When a kitchen staff member (I assume due to her dirty apron/jacket) came out with our starters, and said, β€œso who has what?” Steak tartare is hardly a diner plate, but that’s what it felt like. A grubby diner. The first waiter, who explained in detail he was doing us a favor by helping our table that wasn’t in his station, was inattentive and annoying. Roguishly handsome, probably needs to start that modeling career, because hospitality isn’t for him. The next waiter was just as disinterested and inattentive. All of the staff clung to the water and service stand like the life jacket on what this restaurant was for us, a drowning ship. The waiter gave us a bill for $168 AUD, which wasn’t ours. I asked for our bill which was $367. I was truly tempted to pay the first bill, due to the horrible experience. However, I would never do this. It was my daughter’s birthday., which I indicated on the reservation. I asked the woman who I paid the check to (at the table with

This restaurant is truly an institution, the kind of place everyone should experience at least once. It has earned its reputation not through hype, but through consistency, quality, and an unmistakable sense of occasion. The menu showcases modern Australian cuisine at its best: seasonal, thoughtfully sourced ingredients presented with confidence and restraint. Each dish feels refined yet approachable, balancing creativity with flavours that are familiar and comforting. There’s a clear respect for local produce, and the execution is polished without ever feeling pretentious. Its location is just as impressive as the food. Set in a prime spot, the restaurant makes the most of its surroundings, whether that’s sweeping views, vibrant city energy, or a beautifully designed space that immediately sets the tone. It’s the kind of place where you want to slow down, settle in, and enjoy the experience. Service is professional and attentive, striking the perfect balance between warm hospitality and quiet efficiency. From start to finish, everything feels seamless. A true landmark dining destination timeless, dependable, and still exciting. If you want to understand why this restaurant is
