Very disappointing experience. I have been a long-time Country Road customer and have spent thousands with the brand over the years. I visited the Sydney City store recently intending to make a substantial purchase, but was met with a cold, dismissive and at times almost hostile attitude from multiple staff members. I wasn't even greeted when I entered the store. And it wasn't simply that I was ignored; the manner in which I was treated was actively unwelcoming. What was particularly noticeable was the contrast in how staff treated other customers, who appeared to receive warm and attentive service while I was treated very differently. This behaviour was not limited to one staff member, it also came from the blonde woman at the counter who appeared to be the store manager. As a brown woman, I found the difference extremely uncomfortable and left feeling that I was being treated differently because of my ethnicity and body size. I ultimately left without making the purchase I had intended because I felt unwelcome. For a brand I have supported for many years, this was extremely disappointing. On two seperate occasions, Darren’s customer service and expertise has been amazing. He has gone above and beyond to ensure I left happy. This is such a pleasurable experience considering the ladies in the Womenswear treated me so poorly. Whenever I visit the store, I will be seeking his assistance ONLY.

I was helped by a lovely lady with short hair and thick rimmed glasses. She helped me buy some clothes for my sick Mum. She took time to show me options and help me as my Mum was her size. Thank you so much and my Mum loved them all. Much appreciated

I’d love to share an experience I had in your store last Thursday night. I’m a woman in my 50s and came in looking for a pair of jeans. Two particular salespeople helped me, and they were absolutely wonderful. I wish I had taken their names so I could acknowledge them properly. They seemed to be of a similar vintage to me and were so empowering, uplifting, and genuinely exceptional at their jobs. They were patient, encouraging, and incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. It’s honestly been many years since I’ve experienced service like that. Well done, Country Road , you’ve really nailed your demographic. Please keep hiring people like this. The experience was so refreshing, and it made a real impression on me. I had a lovely day shopping in the city yesterday with exceptional service at every store — except for Country Road. After reading through the other negative Google reviews for this location, I’m relieved to know I’m not alone in my experience, but it’s also deeply concerning. I sincerely hope more is done than a standard “thanks for your feedback” response, because my interaction with Nadia, the store manager, was completely unprofessional. She even went so far as to threaten that she would not “do me this favour” if I intended to make a complaint. To be clear, there was no favour being done — my return request to retain my loyalty dollars for an exchange is something I’ve done before without issue. She insisted I wasn’t entitled to receive the additional amount I paid via EFT back and that I “had to” use it in store. Sorry, what?! When I questioned this, she became quite nasty. She tried to infer I was the one in the wrong, simply because I was voicing the issue and inconsistency. Please, accept responsibility for your rudeness! Thankfully, every other interaction I had throughout the day was extra warm, seamless, and professional, so this encounter didn’t manage to ruin what
