Very unpleasant experience in which the owner was unnecessarily rude, argumentative and accusatory. I found a beautiful bottle of Pisco online and travelled an hour to collect it. The owner said it had been sitting in the store for years and she didn’t even know they had it. However, when we got home and opened the box we saw both bottle seals had been broken and the bottle had been opened. I called the store immediately and the assistant requested I call back tomorrow to speak to the owner as they weren’t sure what to do. When I called back and spoke to the owner, instead of apologising for the damaged bottle and offering a solution, they accused me of opening the bottle myself. I asked her why I would I travel far to collect something I had been looking for and excited about finding, and now have to bring back because it’s potentially dangerous as the bottle seemed to have been tampered with. She said she wished she checked the bottle herself before we left because she doesn’t know if I am telling the truth. I agreed that I wished the bottle had been checked, as I wouldn’t have taken it if I knew it was open. I also asked her if she was accusing me of lying and why would I do tha

Nasty dangerous woman working there. The horrific behaviour of the woman who worked today on 2nd May 2024, this morning around 11:00am. Manly Bottler 218 Pittwater Road, Manly, NSW 2095. Her behaviour is not just rude, it's very very dangerous. She did not just treat me poorly in front of a guy. She was very nasty for no reason. I'm not sure if he was a supplier, but he witnessed it. It was raining very heavily, I bought what I needed to buy and politely asked her for a plastic bag. Out of nowhere she was very rude to me. She scoffed and was very nasty. I asked her what was wrong. She said the plastic bag will end up in the ocean. She was accusing me infact that, I would put it there. I've seen her before. I'm polite all the time. She doesn't know me for her to even accuse me of anything. I told her that this was the very first time that I have ever asked the shop for a plastic bag. I wouldn't have even known you had one. I pointed out to her that it was raining heavily outside and my paper bag I was holding was already ripped and wet through and through. I don't know the reason for her sudden turn in attitude. Great little family-run local bottle shop. These guys know their wine and often have cases of 'clean skin' wine available at super cheap prices. good range of beer and spirits too.
