Surry Hills is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Australian addresses list the street number, suburb, state abbreviation and postcode, and Surry Hills follows the same pattern; a number like 2/411 means unit 2 at number 411. Last Wednesday we had a very nice experience at Mishy’s. There weren’t any tables available inside so the staff proposed to sit on the terrace outside. They gave us blankets so we felt very comfortable 😊 The food was delicious! The waiter was also very kind to us and gave us a couple of suggestions for a stay in Sydney. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

I’d been looking forward to visiting Mishi’s ever since I met Mishi at the Rocks Markets during lockdown. I loved her philosophy around food and life, so it took me a while to finally make it here, and I’m so pleased I did. We visited for Sunday brunch, and the venue is beautiful. The space is warm, thoughtfully designed and immediately welcoming. The staff were genuinely friendly, and the menu reflects what’s fresh, seasonal and available from the markets, which is something I really appreciate. The standout dishes for our table were definitely the kangaroo salami and the beetroot tart. Both were exceptional. The beetroot tart, in particular, was beautifully balanced and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The beef was also excellent, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The roast chicken received mixed feedback around the table. While the flavour was good, the breast was a little dry and lacked the succulence we were expecting. Of the sides, the Dutch carrots and the potato and Savoy cabbage were enjoyable, but the mushroom cassoulet was the clear favourite. We’d happily order that again. The wine list is also thoughtfully curated and complements the food beautifully.

From the moment you step in the door, you're made to feel like part of the family here. Went on a Friday night and sat at the bar which was a perfect vantage point to see the team at work. Couldn't fault any of the dishes we had but the ceviche was amazing. The standout here is the staff though. From Mishy's electric vibe to the rest of the team giving recommendations and even adding a special treat to our meal. It really was perfection and we'll be back for sure.

Nice brunch spot with home style vibe but with more fine dining elements. I surprised to see zucchini flower on menu which pretty good. Roast chicken was really savory too.

Perfect spot for a casual catch-up with friends - laid-back vibe combined with top-class food and friendly knowledgeable service - what more could you want? Beetroot tart with onion and taleggio topped with a thatch of watercress was excellent - as was a salad with peach, grilled corn and a macadamia-based green goddess dressing - scallops on the half-shell with creamed leeks and an Indian inspired dressing, also very tasty - but the dish of the day for me was definitely the super-tender grilled loligo quid with fermented papaya hot sauce on a bed of kohlrabi salad. Some great wines by the glass too.
