Worse mental health services, when I was in qld they help even Croydon help but the psychiatrist here said “I’m not acute enough” like what you want me on death bed or in jail before helping ? Horrible telling someone trying to seek help that they are to healthy to help ….

I have been admitted and discharged from Cumberland Mental Heath Hospital a few different times. After I get discharged, Parramatta Acute Care team do a follow-up to check how I am coping Mentally. I was diagnosed with Chronic insomnia and bipolar, and the medication that I was prescribed is Seroquel 100ml, which I take at night. I was first put on 25ml Seorquel, to help me sleep and to stabilise my moods, to make sure my moods are not too high or too low. I built a tolerance on 25ml Seroquel, I could not sleep and my moods became unstable, I was admitted back into Cumberland mental Health hospital and the Seroquel was increased to 50ml at night. After taking the medication for awhile I build a tolerance again, went back into hospital again and the Seroquel was increased to 100ml at night. When the Acute Care Team do their follow up, I tell them I keep building a tolerance to the medication after taking it for few months. In a not caring response I am told, if I build a tolerance again to the medication I need to be admitted back into Cumberland Mental Hospital for a medication review. If I could put 0 star I definitely did that. They are contacting people with not identifiable numbers and when you don't answer them ( because you can not distinguish them from scammers) they threaten you. Extremely unprofessional. Not all the staff but some of them. The psychiatrist is checking you in a 5 Min visit!!!! Asking you some predictable & preotypic questions & he/she is in rush for his luxurious private consulting room where they have time for listening hopefully not threatening people. They see people with mental health illness as criminals not HUMAN BEINGS. If you want to discuss about subjective & objective side effects of those outdated medications especially antipsychotics they threaten you with old generations antipsychotics which make you drowsy, sleepy and non functional. The psychiatry is the only field of medicine that they don't look at the organ they treat & they just prescribe antipsychotics for each and every poor patient irrespective of his/her true diagnosis. It doesn't matter you have Major deep depression, bipolar, Schizoaffective or schizophrenia, at the end of the day they prescribe you an antipsychotic which is not even approved for your proclaimed

On my last visit I was surprised how quickly I was tested (15 minutes max.) and sent off. I think that the need to have testing done where queues were 400 to five hundred metres long is over. Very convenient location for pedestrians or non-car drivers. Not easy to find walk in clinics in Parramatta Area

First, I was not provided with my reference number. Second, you will get your results late compared to other places I have had tested. The long queue: can’t just complain about it as it is the same everywhere at the moment. But, yes they are short of staff and slower. I called them just now, the lady transferred me to the other department regarding tests, they aren’t even picking the phone up.
