All was quick and professional. Not many people before lunch. Could use a phone inside, no problem.

St george bank is WORST out all of them for applying for credit card. Spend 2 weeks trying to complete my application and gave up at the end. Every time try to upload the document the system throws the error ' technical issues '. Went to the branch 2 times and spend a few hours on the phone. The physical document handed at the branch and they told me on the phone they didn't receive some of them.

Really bad bank with horrible systems. Went to pay $6K on my credit card and it's blocked. No notification or anything from St George. Went to buy groceries and the card is still blocked. Called St George. On hold for 45 minutes. Told there is 'scam alert' on my card and they'd have to put me through to another team. On hold again - then get voicemail saying the team is only open 8am-8pm. So I can't buy anything until they open. Why do they block your card, not notify you, then not have a 24/7 team that can resolve it? I need to be able to buy things... I missed out on credit card points for $6K purchase. Call back at 8am and told I need to go to a branch. They don’t open till 9am. Can’t buy kids their school lunches because account is suspended - but still no proactive outreach from St George.

This bank deserves zero star, it is the worst bank in Australia, I deposited a large amount in $ in a remunerated account in June 2024, I went abroad, I came back on January 30, 2025 to see the amount of interest I had, I was informed that the amount deposited had remained in a current account and not in a remunerated account, I was shown different account numbers to justify themselves, how should I know which account is the current account and which account is the remunerated investment account? Real scammers, no level of competence or respect for the customer. I had asked for the agent who had made the investment for me, it turned out that it is the manager, Do you have a person who places a large amount in a current account for seven months without interest? I tried by all means to convince them and I always come back in front of the manager who had opened the account for me and who had made the investment for me, discussing with her to convince her, it is as if I was talking to a wall, The advice I give to customers is to avoid this bank and especially this agency, never open a customer account at this bank, there are many other banks in Sydney that are 1000 times better, with

St George street locate middle of Sydney CBD area. Nice causal pedestrian street with tram in the middle from Chinatown to Circular Quay. Multiple malls and restaurants can be found within the same area. Street basking makes the streets much more interesting to visit. It was part of original Sydney High Street and remains one of the busiest streets in the city. Interesting mix between old and new buildings, shops, cafes, locals vs tourists. Many old English settlements style buildings still remain on the previously known β€œHigh Street”.
