Very disappointed with my experience. I purchased rice from this store and found hundreds of tiny black insects in it. When I spoke to the seller, he said he already knew the rice had insects but claimed it wasn’t his responsibility and that he had simply reduced the price. However, he never informed me about this before I bought it. Selling food with a known quality issue without informing customers is unacceptable. I have been shopping here regularly, but after this experience and the way my concern was handled, I will not be returning. I hope the store takes food quality and customer safety more seriously in the future. Very bad experience

I am leaving this review based on my personal experience as a customer. I have visited Star Grocery in Parramatta several times, and unfortunately the customer service by the owner has been disappointing on my visits. On more than one occasion, I found the owner’s manner rude and disrespectful. He spoke in a harsh and unfriendly way that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as a customer. Customers should be treated with basic respect, courtesy, and professionalism.

Horrible experience. Bought a 5kg bag of pattu rice on the evening of 5th May 2026. Next day morning when we opened to use it, we noticed bugs / insects in the bag. Immediately went and requested a refund for the product, the owner / shopkeeper was very rude to us and spoke in a very high tone and asked to never come back to the store and also mentioned to us to get out and get the receipt. I have the proof of payment from my card, but the receipt might be misplaced. But really distressed with his response. Attaching the proof of product and the video of the bug/insect. Request the owner to please address the issue. I guess he himself was the owner too.

This grocery store has an enormous range of dried fruit and nuts. Many that I have never seen before and all reasonably priced. The walnuts I purchased here were some of the best I’ve found anywhere and I’ve been back three times for more. The store also has a wide range of Middle Eastern and Asian grocery items.

This store has a wide variety of products, like teas, big bags of rice and spices and jars of sauces 👌. Very easily accessible by public transport by the light rail. There is car park near Coles Parramatta North on Victoria road. Really good customer service. Highly recommend to visit this store for a change than Coles or Woolworths.
