Terrible customer service experience at an otherwise great bottle shop. I was enjoying having a leisurely browse as this shop has a lot of interesting and hard to find import items. 5 minutes in and the store clerk gets angry at me for looking around, and suggests that I leave if I’m not going to buy something. His tone was disrespectful- as if I was being unreasonable for wanting to look around in his shop. I empathise with the fact that he had a lot of stock-taking to do, but visitors to the shop should feel welcomed to freely look around as they please without feeling intimidated. I did not have anything in mind of items to purchase, so I did not require help, but I was seriously considering buying a $70 bottle of spirits before this bad interaction made me leave empty handed. I have browsed and purchased from this shop many times in the past without issue, and I would like to continue to support this business, but I will not do so if I’m treated with this level of disrespect again. This was at around midday on 23/4/25. This interaction soured the experience of being in a truly special one of a kind bottle shop.

This place happened to be the closest to our hotel, so that’s where we went. The staff were friendly and patient with all our questions. WD ended up trying something new and quite liked the suggestions. Lied their choice of whiskey and knowledge too.

I was in the store on the 14/09/18 at around 12pm. I walked in and was actually impressed by the variety and price competitiveness of alot of the products. My experience went down hill when I asked the salesman/owner a few simple questions regarding the products. He gave short, abrupt responses that were not helpful at all and gave the impression he doesn't have time for his customers even though i was the only customer in store at the time. Literally 2 minutes later another customer walked in and picked up a coke from out of the fridge near the front of the store. Again the salesman was unnecessarily rude to this man however this time he picked the wrong guy. The customer and owner started shouting at each other until the customer became extremely aggressive saying things like "I'm going to break your teeth" and " you're the rudest person i have come across". He became so aggressive infact that i could see the owner feeling scared. (I was thinking of stepping in to try and diffuse the situation but in all honesty the owner deserved it and hopefully it's a wake up call for him and his partner who was standing in the background twiddling his thumbs) In the end out of fear the

Absolutely disgusting service. I walked in to purchase some high end Rum & see what they had available. My partner needed to use the bathroom & so I asked the counter staff if there was any bathrooms available locally. His answer was a stern "No". He then told me to leave the Bottle shop as he did not allow ice cream in his shop. Won't be going back!
