Pretty shit of an ED where they want to fast track an individual who's leg got crushed by a ute out in a few hours time. Honestly.....how do they expect someone to heal that fast..... someone told me that with the ED.....if you ain't dying..... you're not a priority regardless of how much pain and hurt you are in. The medical staff just wanted to get me out. Don't blame the government or how badly staffed you are......you should have been better prepared because you guys chose this job.

Good experience today at Westmead. The waiting room and hospital rooms were at good temperature. The triage nurses very helpful and all staff were amazing people.yes it was 13 hours long wait but this is due too many customers and despite nurses working super hard they can only do what is humanely possible. If it was not for lengthy wait time I would give it 5 stars which nurses and doctors certainly deserve

I went to emergency last night in a lot of pain. It didn't take long to be triaged which was appreciated. I was then given painkillers almost straight away. It was really busy and they had no beds/chairs available and so I had to go back out in the waiting room until I could have scans. However they spent time making sure that my pain had dropped enough to be comfortable before sending me back out there. Each engagement with the Ct/ultrasound staff and the drs, nurses and assisting staff was very good. They are so busy yet the small amount of time they spend with you is quality and of benefit. It shows that if you really need emergency care they will provide it.

Describing my experience so others have an idea, note the staff did tell me they were short staffed but gave me accurate estimates for all things I asked. Roughly 10pm arrival 1010 triage by nurse 1015 bloods taken for inflammatory markers 1230 doctor 1236 ultrasound on wound (abscess) 1247 CRP of 2 , WCC 6, (normal ranges) didn't hear ESR but assuming normal 1248 doctor will talk to surg team about possible draining 430 surgical doctor suggest removing the pus and tissues, won't stitch it so it remains open just packed with some tissue. Will put me on list for ~7AM quick 10-20minute op they will put me under. After they will put me on IV AB , he is not worried nothing else in the area where it is. Will need someone to pick me up, possibly around 2pm or could be next day depending on how many ops there are. 5AM Antibiotics administered via IV 517 got blanket and back to waiting room 8ish went to the anathesthetic room 1030 got food and woke up 12bsurgeon visit to check up and confirm everything. Overall I'm happy, staff were pleasant and open to questions, I got surgery on the day and didn't need to wait another day. My only complaint is the lack of beds, it's hard to sleep in a

Westmead Adult Emergency is a modern, state-of-the-art facility, and we appreciate the dedication of the doctors, nurses, and support staff who work tirelessly under immense pressure. However, our recent experience highlighted serious concerns regarding communication and transparency. Before attending, we checked the emergency department information online, which indicated there were fewer than 10 people waiting in triage. Upon arrival, there appeared to be well over 100 people in the department. The information provided online did not reflect the reality of the situation and made it difficult to make informed decisions about seeking care. After triage, blood tests, and nursing assessments were completed, we were advised that it would likely be a couple of hours before seeing a doctor. We understood and accepted this. We fully appreciate that emergency departments must prioritise patients based on clinical urgency. The issue was not the wait itself. The issue was the lack of honest and meaningful communication as the hours continued to pass. After waiting more than seven hours, we asked for an update and were told there had been no change in our position. Three hours later, af
