This morning we have a very bad experience at Aldi hurstville store. It’s just been 20-25 minutes am out of store and couldn’t believe the terrible customer service of one of the young boy on the front at self checkout. He needs a some serious customer service lesson. As I was doing self check, the self check showed assistance 2-3 times on my screen. He rushed to us first and started talking so rude. I asked him politely I could continue further but he was not stopping. Even we haven’t finished paying out he told so rudely to put basket on other side. So bad, as often we visit Aldi but today was worst experience. This kind of behavior can cause serious issue in your store in future. That’s how other people loose temper and that leads to serious consequences. Need to respect customer’s choice.

My partner went shopping with our 3- and 4-year-old children, juggling shopping and looking after the kids as any parent does, when one of your staff members accused her of stealing. After searching her bag — which contained no stolen goods — he claimed it was “store policy” to search everyone’s bags. That clearly was not the case, as nobody else at the checkout was searched. We have shopped here many times before and have never been treated this way. Yet when she was alone with the kids, she was suddenly treated like a shoplifter. Do your staff have any idea how demeaning it is to be forced to empty your bag in front of everyone at the checkout? What exactly made your staff decide that a young mother shopping with her children should be profiled as a thief? We can certainly afford your ridiculously overpriced groceries, but what I will not tolerate is the humiliation my partner was subjected to simply for being unfairly profiled.

Never shopping here again, i went this evening with my husband to buy groceries. The lady at the till already looked as if she was in a bad mood but we proceeded to the till. I was mortified as she dialled up the food and said “ That will be $20 AND I NEED TO CHECK YOUR BAG!!! I just read the store policy its states if you are suspected of stealing something then they will ask a bag check. I was so embarrassed, She made me feel like a theif. what was more interesting is the white Australian man in the line behind us stating “She only asked to check your bag because you are BLACK” this made the cashier uncomfortable and she said no that’s not why. But im starting to think he is right, Any how, we are locals and we wont be shopping there anymore. My bag is literally smaller then a A4 piece of paper. Maybe give better training to your staff in future, Do they treat all families like this? Or just interacial ones? DISCUSTING! Below a picture of my tiny hand bag

A lady on the billing section was very rude to me today (11/02 around 11:21 am). She asked me to open the bag for checking. I opened the bag there was one bag of apple without receipt. I bought it from wollies. I showed bank receipt to her but she did not let me go, instead she kept on saying "we also have this apple". Her tone was not professional at all. She kept saying other cutomers " Oh hello". What kind of language is this?? Is this the way the manager of this store train these people?

The staff member appeared disengaged and maintained a VERY cold demeanor throughout the interaction. She offered minimal communication-limited to only asking ‘cash or card’, eye contact was completely avoided, and did not seem interested in providing friendly customer service. Dissapointed with the dismisiviness and stern approach. A warmer, more welcoming approach would greatly improve customer experience. Visit. 26.11.25, 6:40pm, Terminal ID- 50043801.
