I regularly go to black star party chatswood with my client to have morning tea for coffee and cake. We many time could not find the table but the manager (she told her name is “knee” not elbow, I’m not sure if I spell her name correctly though 😅) always comes to help us finding the table and chat with us. She always has smile on her face and friendly ❤️ Sometimes when we asked for suggestions as my client has food allergy, some staff was unable to give us an advice but manager came and give us what we can take. A small vent, occasionally I received unfriendly service from some of the staffs there. They never smiled or looked welcome … adding friendly smile would make a big difference ! Cake is always good, coffee is great, location is easy to find. Will definitely go back again !

When I saw the sign that they are now serving hojicha latte for a limited time only, I got super excited. I love a good hojicha latte for its subtle sweetness and roasted grainy, nutty tasty. But the hojicha latte here did not meet my expectations. It also looked quite different from the photo displayed. The hot version, which we ordered, was served in a very small cup, and we were charged $9.50 each (there was no price displayed). It being a Saturday, they charged weekend surcharge and credit card surcharge so we ended up paying $21.17 for 2 very small cups of mediocre hojicha latte. It was too thick and bitter and there was zero subtle sweetness that comes with a proper good hojicha latte. So much of the hojicha powder settled to the bottom of the cup and no spoons were given to stir or scoop - not that the grey sludge was at all appetizing. Overall quite a disappointing and expensive experience. Will not be ordering it again here.

NO SERVICE. Lovely dessert. Average $10+ for a very small piece but tasty enough. Just that service is very minimal. Nearly ZERO. Located in Chatswood Westfield on level 5 it’s my go to cafe as it’s quieter and has good variety of sweets and caffeinated drinks. But I think the management/owner not treating employees well because I’ve been going for years I’ve never seen anyone smiles. Not one haven I been warmly greeted by ANYone who was at the counter. What a shame because they have nice coffee and desserts would be good to get some smiles and some “how are you today” I mean it’s not KFC or Macca.

Such lovely cakes! Nice coffee too. Bright and open space for casual catch ups. Easy location in the heart of Chatswood.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely wonderful customer service! I had a small mix-up with the milk in my coffee, but the way the staff handled it completely exceeded my expectations. They immediately remade my coffee with the correct milk, no hesitation at all, and on top of that they kindly gifted me a small cake as a gesture of apology. The cake was delicious and such a thoughtful surprise - it truly turned a minor mistake into a really positive experience. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way this team handled it shows how much they genuinely care about their customers. I’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the great coffee and cakes, but for the outstanding service. Highly recommend! 🍰☕️
