Absolutely loved the Persimmon & Earl Grey cake from Sweet Lu. The cake was light, delicate and not overly sweet, and the persimmon was incredibly fresh and crunchy. Such a unique and beautifully balanced flavour combination. Highly recommend!

I’ve been a long-time customer and want to stress that this review is not about the cakes — the quality is excellent as always. Unfortunately, the service this morning was disappointing. Google shows the store opens at 10:00 am and we arrived at 10:15 am. Although the shop didn’t seem fully ready, the cakes were already on display, so we politely asked to order. The staff member we spoke to was clearly impatient, and when we asked about the opening hours shown on Google, her response became even more dismissive. Packaging was also below standard. When buying two cakes, a carry bag is usually provided, along with disposable spoons and napkins. None of these were offered today, despite us already carrying groceries and multiple bags. This experience makes me question whether staff are adequately trained before working front-of-house. Poor service like this can easily undermine an otherwise great business.

You know a place is good when its quality stands the test of time. Sweet Lu's desserts are delicious, made with healthy ingredients, and their new packaging is beautiful. A top choice for dessert in Sydney.

Sweet Lu Pastries and Drink is such a hidden gem! The pastries are always fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavor. The drinks pair perfectly — refreshing and not overly sweet. The shop is clean and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!
