Eating out in Australia ranges from beachside takeaways to hatted dining rooms, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. If you have dietary needs, most kitchens will adapt a dish if you ask. Licensed venues serve alcohol; BYO places let you bring a bottle for a small corkage fee. Tipping is appreciated but never expected.

1β˜…. Really disappointing customer service. I placed an online order and, around two hours later, found out my mum had become too sick to celebrate. I contacted Black Star Pastry immediately hoping there could be some flexibility given the circumstances, but my request was refused. I've been a repeat customer for years, which makes it even more disappointing. It's hard to understand why a business would risk losing a loyal customer over an $85 order instead of showing a little goodwill.

The Mango Yuzu cake was actually inedible. Had to throw it out- whatever that herb in between the layers is was disgusting and just did not work. I could understand some mint to break up the creaminess and sweetness but I would even suggest someone stuffed up this batch and used seaweed or a basil incorrectly. Overall really disappointed with this cake as I was super excited- the herb wasn’t listed so there was no way to know it was there.

Would you look at all those yummy layers.. Ate them straight after when I got home yesterday. It felt like chocolate after chocolate and was surprised by the texture when I got to the pistachio and kataifi part, truly now my favourite. Trying Black Star’s new Oasis cake was a good idea this week, did not disappoint! Would come again in the future.

Tried the famous strawberry watermelon cake and carrot cake at Black Star Pastry in Parramatta, and wowβ€”both totally lived up to the hype! The strawberry watermelon cake was light, fresh, and beautifully layered, while the carrot cake was moist, perfectly spiced, and just the right amount of sweet. A dessert lover’s dream spotβ€”can’t wait to go back for more! 🍰✨

Went here weeks ago with my wife. All cakes and pastries are amazing, female staffs were friendly and were very much accommodating. New favourite is this nutty chocolate mirage cake! Wife comes here for coffee as wellβ€”good morning coffee! Definitely recommend this pastry shop if you’ve no problem spending a lot on weekends.
