China Lane is one of Sydney CBD's hidden gems. The food was exceptional, and what really stood out was that the vegetarian dishes were every bit as flavourful, creative, and satisfying as the non-vegetarian options. It's rare to find a restaurant where both vegetarians and meat lovers leave equally impressed. The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere was vibrant, and every dish was beautifully presented. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or colleagues, China Lane delivers a memorable experience with something delicious for everyone. Highly recommended and definitely worth a return visit.

China Lane (Worth a Detour) Hits the brief for an exceptional CBD modern Asian experience. Great energy, brilliant playlist, and a kitchen that moves at a relentless pace. Massive shout-out to our waiter Rendy, his sharp hospitality and genuine interest in our birthday celebration massively elevated the night. Buttered Shanghai Noodles (5/5): The absolute standout. Perfectly al dente noodles where the sweet richness of the crab meets a flawlessly calibrated chili kick. Best I've had in a long time. Pulled Pork Bao (4.5/5): A masterclass in contrast. Pillowy sweet buns packed with a rich, spiced heat. A mandatory order. Char-Grilled Lamb Skewers (4.5/5): From the specials menu. Top-notch smoky char on the outside, with beautifully rendered, meltingly tender fat. Salmon Sashimi (4/5): Incredibly fresh and tender. The addition of crisp apple was inspired, cutting through the fish with clean acidity. Slow Poached Chicken Salad (3/5): Light, fresh, and technically sound Pork & Prawn Fried Rice (2.5/5): Leaned heavily toward average. Lacked the distinct flair and punch of the other dishes. It’s a premium spend, but between the technical execution of the food and the top-tier service, t

I came yesterday for dinner and it was an incredible food experience. First the atmosphere of this restaurant is really colorful and pleasant. We start our China Lane Journey with some delicious house cocktails and we had the banquet at 70$. It was a huge amount of food for this price, it’s a really valuable option. Carly and Rendy were amazing with us from the drinks to the dessert. They was really helpful and answered perfectly to all our requests.

What can we say about China Lane… it was our second visit to this wonderful eatery and once again, it didn’t disappoint. It has such a cosy, intimate vibe and the service is exceptional. The food was delicious and the servings very generous - the masterstock pork belly and the buttered Shanghai noodles with Shark Bay spanner crab, chilli and kombu were absolutely outstanding. We left feeling very satisfied and can’t wait to go back!

Another wonderful experience at China Lane. We have been visiting for years now and thought its time to write a review. Diego was exceptionally friendly and professional. The food is excellent, hence why we keep visiting this wonderful restaurant tucked away in a lane. We have recommended this place to our family and friends so if you want good food with great service, you cannot go wrong. Love this place ❀️
