The noodles were delicious, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I politely asked for a small bowl for my dipping sauce. While I was filling it with sauce, the woman staff member (14/7/2026 around 3pm) forcefully dropped the bowl onto the counter with a loud bang. The attitude felt rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. The food was good, but the customer service really affected my overall experience. I hope management can address this and ensure customers are treated with more courtesy and respect.

Mappen is easily one of the best spots you can eat in the city. Especially food thats value for money. Everything was absolutely amazing and fresh, full of flavour, and genuinely some of the best for it's portions. If you're after a cheap meal without compromising on quality, this is definitely the place to go. Pros: - Amazing food that's fresh, delicious. - Excellent value for money with generous portion sizes. - Perfect if you're looking for an affordable meal that's still high quality. - Very fast service, even when it's busy. - Open kitchen where you can watch your meal being prepared from the counter. Cons: - The restaurant is quite small, so seating is limited. If you're planning to dine in, try to grab a seat when one becomes available. - Takeaway costs a little more than dining in, so it's better value to eat at the restaurant if you can. - It's a little tricky to find from the main street since it's tucked inside the arcade, but once you're in, you can't miss it. It's directly across from Pepper Lunch. Overall: I'd highly recommend Mappen to anyone visiting the city. It's hard to find better value. Just be prepared for limited seating and a bit of a hunt to find it the

Mappen has always been one of our favourite places to eat, the prices are super affordable and the food is consistently good. Our go-to dish is the Kimchi Bukkake Udon, but recently we tried the Cheese & Mushroom Udon, and Kake Curry Udon and it was amazing, especially as a comforting winter warmer. The only downside is that you can’t sit down until you already have your food, which can be a bit inconvenient during busy times. However, there’s outdoor seating shared between Mappen, Dera Uma, and Oiden, so if you buy from any of these three places you can sit anywhere in the outside area. A few things to note: - Takeaway costs a bit more - If you want separate soup containers, they charge extra for the container - Free tap filtered water is provided Overall, still one of our favourite affordable Japanese spots with tasty and reliable food.

The Koro DLX Udon was okay. The soup base was a bit too sweet for us personally. More importantly, we ordered the cold udon soup base but got given the hot instead. Mini set was also quite valuable and a nice chance to try a variety of small dishes if you can’t decide what you want. The Kake Chilli Pork Udon was very good. The soup base was quite sweet, but the added spiciness and oil from the spicy pork mince balanced out the soup more. The toppings selected from the self service section were all good and quite valuable, which was a highlight of the whole dining experience. The service was not the best. A younger guy taking orders, when asked a question about the mini set, just looked annoyed and ignored us. We proceeded to order it anyway despite his attitude. The guy would only respond to orders and was very annoyed to do so. Not sure why he acted so angry, we didn’t confront him about it and just moved on. Although it was not a nice experience to be made to feel like we were being a nuisance for asking a question, especially when no one else was in line behind us.

Wow...this is affordable and suitable price for the menu. I really like the koro mappen (but upgrade it +$1) to be koro ramen. Taste is authentic and need you to try. The ambience is good, which has a continue japan song, so it feels like in japan.
