I’ve been meaning to visit Mr Wong for years and it definitely lived up to the reputation. We had a fantastic night. The service was excellent from start to finish. Food and drinks came out at a great pace, we never felt rushed, and the staff made us feel looked after the whole night. Every dish was explained properly, and a special mention to the sommelier. After a few exchanges about what we might like, he recommended the 2024 Stefano Lubiana Riesling. It was a cracking recommendation and one of the best wines I’ve had in a long time. The biggest surprise of the night was actually the king prawns. We had both the stir-fried king prawns with XO sauce and the steamed king prawns. Both were excellent, but the XO version was just a bit better for me. My friends liked the steamed one better. The prawns were large, plump, tender and packed with flavour and fragrance. The twice cooked green beans with pork mince and XO sauce were another standout. Easily the best green bean dish I’ve had. The dim sum was also much better than expected. I didn’t think dim sum could be that different from the yum cha places I’ve been going to over the years, but these were genuinely a level above. Th

We've been coming to Mr Wong for about 15 years. Whether for a birthday, wedding celebration or anniversary... or just because. This place is beyond exceptional. From the food to the service. It never fails. The last few times we've been, we are served by the most delightful person named Marie. She IS just the kindest and most beautiful soul and ALWAYS goes out of her way to welcome us and have a little chat. In fact all the staff are great, but Marie is a special person! We have never had a bad meal here which is why we come back, time and time again! Our recommendations are: the fried rice, steam ginger toothfish, beef cubes and pork hock! We always make sure to over order as well, because there's nothing like a bit of take away from Mr Wong 👌

Among all the dishes the simple ones were the best cooked. I enjoyed the morning glory. The steam dim sum collection was amazing. My guest enjoyed the soup which I understood had many ingredients. The Peking duck was so so in my opinion and not the best. The atmosphere was just so well done and warehouse looking. Was definitely worth an experience. No need to over order, each dish is quite substantial.

This was our third visit, and the restaurant has been very consistent so far. This time, we ordered the Cheung prawns, Whitebait, Peking duck, Pepper beef, Large fried rice, Snow peas, and Hong Kong noodles. The Peking duck was definitely the highlight of this visit. We also tried the Cheung prawns on our very first visit and loved them. Overall, the food quality remains consistent and the restaurant delivers a more refined, high class Chinese dining experience compared to a standard Chinese restaurant. The only dish we did not enjoy as much was the whitebait. Compared to traditional Chinese-style whitebait, theirs was a bit thick and lacked the spicy flavour we expected. The taste was slightly unusual compared to what we are used to at other Chinese restaurants. The ambience and setting are elegant, but the service felt a little rushed. Even though we informed them in advance that we needed the table for at least 1.5 hours, staff repeatedly checked if we had finished and started clearing plates while we were still eating. We were simply taking our time to digest and enjoy the flavours, so it felt slightly uncomfortable. As for the cocktail it was fairly average and a bit wate

Everything about this place left a lasting impression. The old Hong Kong–style atmosphere is truly something special, with whole ducks hanging just like a traditional market, giving the space a feel that is completely authentic. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the cocktail menu more than held its own. My drink was perfectly balanced, the kind you sip slowly because you don’t want it to end. Service was impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always nearby and ready the moment you needed them. I was thoroughly impressed, and already looking forward to coming back.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
