Interesting little museum with history of the Australian currency. It is free to enter and should take an hour to do a decent walk around.

I always curious about how to make the world first polymer currency notes. I can discover this process in this museum. The museum entrance is a bit hard to approach but once you get inside the atmosphere is quite comfortable. I would recommend this informative museum to travellers and whom want to know more about Australian currency history.

I recently had the chance to visit the Reserve Bank of Australia Museum in Sydney, and while it might not be the first attraction that comes to mind when exploring the city, it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The museum, housed within the stunning heritage-listed Reserve Bank building, takes you on a journey through the fascinating history of Australian currency. The exhibits are well-curated and informative, showcasing the evolution of Australian banknotes and coins from the early days of colonization to the present day. It was particularly interesting to see how the designs of the currency reflected the changing social and economic landscape of the country. Although the museum is focused on Australian currency, I think it would appeal to anyone with a general interest in history or economics. It's a great way to learn about a significant aspect of Australian life and gain a deeper appreciation for the role the Reserve Bank plays in the nation's economy. Important Note: It's important to keep in mind that the museum is currently closed for renovations, so be sure to check their website for updates before planning your visit. However, once it reopens, I highly recommend

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is Australia's central bank. It's located right in the middle of CBA at Martin Place. What many people does not know is that there is a small museum on the GF of the imposing building on the history of the Australian currency. Turn left as you walk in. The display is well organised and divided into sections covering major eras in the development of Australia's money - from the early holy dollar to the plastic money you see today. If you are a keen collector of coins and notes and you are a bit of a history buff, then you might find this little place an interesting visit. If you've always wanted to know the symbolisms and the people depicted on Australia's money, then this is the place for you. Frankly I don't think this place gets many visitors. On the day I was there, I was the only person there the whole time. The security guard was very polite and personally show me where to go to start the visit.

The Reserve Bank of Australia: Museum of Australian Currency Notes", Martin Place: Did you know there is a museum inside the Reserve Bank of Australia? Don't worry, according to the security guards who work there, neither do most Sydneysiders! Offering free entry, the museum is open Monday to Friday, 10-4pm. It's actually surprisingly interesting, providing a detailed look at our countries fiscal history. The Mint across the road looks after coins, but this place has the paper money, including original bank notes from early settlement days. Do yourself a favour a pop in for a look one day.
