We had travel insurance with SCTI covering several trips we planned to take within 12 months. Unfortunately my wife had a fall and broke her femur two weeks before one of our trips. The company that we booked with had a no refund policy for cancellations before leaving on any trip. In saying that we did get some money refunded on compassionate grounds. I had to put a claim in with SCTI which I wasn't looking forward to as I thought it would be difficult. I completed the claim form and supplied the requested information, they replied asking for more information which I gave them. The process was easy and they were very professional. The claim was approved and funds were transferred to our bank account. We are very impressed with SCTI and highly recommend them for travel insurance.

I've previously written glowing 5* reviews for SCTI. I'm so disappointed this time. I recently travelled to Spain and put my back out. Haven't had this condition previously. This time around the insurance consultant has been ??!! (Insert words of choice) - they wanted my doctor's details and number among a raft of other info. I'm continuously travelling for work, so there's just no point seeking minimal reimbursement for a claims officer that wanted to make it more trouble than it's worth. But it's sooo disappointing after thinking i'd found a reputable five star travel insurance company. I've used SCTI multiple times previously. I've also been travelling all my life since 7 months old. I guess I'm back to finding a reputable company that doesn't make claiming generic issues problematic and long winded. So disappointing. Now to find my previous glowing reviews (& they were really good experiences)

I highly recommend Southern Cross Travel Insurance as they have been exceptional at resolving a travel claim due to a significant disruption to our holiday plans. I was able to speak to a Customer Support representative very quickly, who promptly reassured me that my children and I would be taken care of financially in respect of booking a new transfer to our initial destination. The claim form was incredibly straightforward and within 72 hours I received an email confirming our claim was accepted and would be paid in full. I have previously used Allianz, and while their service was superb, Southern Cross outperformed them by providing such a speedy resolution and straightforward claim process. I love the fact there is a zero excess option also. No one ever wants to be in a position where travel plans are disrupted, but it's very reassuring to know you're with a travel insurance company that's there to support you. Thank you Southern Cross for enabling my family and I to have a smooth journey for our overseas trip. We can now and look forward to a wonderful holiday.

My husband and I are keen travellers, especially when it comes to international travel. Securing travel insurance has always been our first priority when booking a holiday, with the hope of not having to make a claim. In preparation for a trip to Vietnam in March 2026, my husband and I, along with another couple who are our close friends and frequent travel companions, paid for flights, put down a deposit on a holiday package, and took out travel insurance. Unfortunately, one of our travel companions received a serious illness diagnosis, which necessitated cancelling the trip. We were fortunate to have organised our insurance through Southern Cross Travel Insurance, who demonstrated exceptional diligence, professionalism, helpfulness, and compassion. The claim process, which was handled online, was straightforward and efficient. Our claim was processed in under two weeks, and the funds were deposited into our account promptly. In contrast, our travel companions, who used a different insurer and submitted their claim a week before we did, are still awaiting resolution. We appreciate the excellent service provided by Southern Cross Travel Insurance.

First overseas trip and wasn’t too sure who to go with for travel insurance. Very happy we found SCTI! Really great coverage, and great value for pre-existing conditions! Don’t be afraid to get covered for the literal reason you need it. I had to lodge a claim as I got sick in Thailand and it was absolutely seamless. Submitted documents on the app, confirmation email came through quickly, was paid out within a few days with no pushback. HIGHLY recommend. Even the Dr. in Thailand said SCTI is a great travel insurer
