They are interested in selling the policies, but when it comes to the claims - most of the claims officer talks as a lawyer/client relationship instead of a customer relationship.

Honestly I feel 1 star is generous. Westpac were never great to start with but ever since they started using Allianz everything is a nightmare. Delays, refusals without reasons, there is no customer service, truly appalling.

Really disappointed with this policy. You lose your no-claim bonus just for lodging a claim, even if you don’t actually proceed with it. For example, after the recent hail event, every other insurer is sending assessors to inspect damage to roofs and solar panels. When I called to arrange the same, I was told my premium would increase by $80 a month simply for having someone come out to take a look—because lodging a claim automatically removes the no-claim bonus, even if no repair or payout is made. This feels unfair and out of step with how other insurers handle these situations.

I just replaced our policy after 35 years as a customer. They cancelled my our claim bonus after we had a quote but NEVER went through with the claim. Regardless they would not budge so we have taken our valuable business elsewhere.

This could be the worst insurance company. It is a complete rip off. No intention to settle any claims. Not to mention the waiting time of nearly an hour to get through to any of their staff members. Also, their staff is always confused between direct Allianz customers and the ones through Westpac insurance. This’d take them furthermore time to direct to the appropriate person. At least you should set aside couple of hours every time you deal with them. Since I didn’t get any updates for more than 2 months, I contacted Westpac Insurance via phone and then I was told verbally that my claim was rejected due to the age of the building and poor maintenance. But I argued that I bought this premises less than 3 years ago and if Westpac had an issue with my house, why did they raised at the time when I signed up with them and also why did they debit insurance premiums from my bank account for almost 3 years amounting to nearly $7,000. Also, during the initial years, I hired professional roofers to inspect and repair if there are any broken tiles, fix gutters, paint roof tiles etc. so, their argument of not being maintained doesn’t seem to be reasonable. Moreover, the facias fell over due
