Extremely disappointing experience at the Chatswood NRMA branch on May 19 at approximately 11am. I attended in person seeking assistance with my first-ever insurance claim, only to be handed a phone by the man at the front and told to call customer service myself. If customers are expected to handle claims over the phone regardless, it raises the question of what purpose the physical branch actually serves. There was no greeting, empathy, or attempt to assist beyond redirecting me elsewhere. The entire interaction felt dismissive and impersonal. To make matters worse, the phone support team was equally unhelpful, requiring repeated escalation just to receive basic assistance. For a company that promotes customer care and reliability, the service experience was shockingly poor. After this experience, I will be cancelling my policies, moving to another insurer, and would not recommend NRMA to others.

Meng at the Chatswood branch was very patient and attentive. The system didn’t have my car model listed, but she patiently spent a long time on the phone to sort it out and helped me arrange comprehensive insurance. It even delayed her lunch break. I truly appreciate her patience and care. All the cars in our family are insured with NRMA, and we will continue to use NRMA.

Amazing service! Ilia was so helpful and went above and beyond to help and explain everything to me (even though they were closing for a Friday afternoon!). Would highly recommend.

This the first visit since they moved from previous location in Chatswood. What's happened to the NRMA team ? They used to be a great team, always fantastic. This is the worst feeling of visitning experiences thoughout my whole NRMA visits inlcuding other locations. I visited to obtain IDP, almost first in the morning. Probably people are all tired in busy December, but no feeling of being welcomed much. Well, that's fine I was not there to be welcomed, but to get the thing done. Prosess was dealt very smooth, thank you, team. I appreciated you are still professional in what you are doing. But when on the payment, I asked for the discout for NRMA membership to get the IDP, as I have been getting the benefit since at least between 2008 - 2019. The lady said, "This is a goverment document, we never had the discount before" . Don't say never, especially in the customer service, yes, it's sure there once was the discount! Just say that " I did not know but it seems no longer exsiting". I did not know there was discount scheme for IDP back in 2008, but NRMA Burwood office team told me about the membership discount for getting IDP. Overall the customer service was good. I didn't need to wait too long. But the outcome not as expected. I went to get a price comparison for a home insurance expecting NRMA to come out cheaper- but they didn't ! over $700 more expensive which I and the customer service person were surprised as he had my renewal policy and was matching like for like. Obviously, I am staying with my existing policy. The fellow helping me was very nice and I will check again with NRMA as I have switched to them before and they have been cheaper in the past
