We booked this hostel knowing it was a cheap place to stay, but the conditions we encountered were completely unacceptable. To start, our room wasn't even ready at the time of our check-in. When we finally got in, we noticed insects on the table and near the kitchenware. We tried to overlook it at first, but when we returned later that evening, the room was absolutely infested with bugs on the walls, floor, tables, bathroom, and even the beds. Some might say bugs are "normal" for Australia, but a room like this is never normal or acceptable. We went to the front desk to ask for assistance or insect spray, but no supplies were available. We literally had to go to the supermarket ourselves to buy crawling insect killer. Even after thoroughly spraying the room and leaving it to take effect, the bugs just kept coming out. It was impossible to rest. We have tried contacting the property multiple times both via email and directly through Trip to resolve this, but they have completely ignored us and never responded. At the end, we couldn't take it. We didn't stay here for even a single night. We ended up having to leave the hostel and find a completely new hotel that very same day just

Don’t stay in this place – it’s full of bugs and the administration doesn’t care We asked for a full refund for the impossibility of staying in those conditions and they didn’t respond and ignored us. There is a severe bug infestation!!! When we entered our room, we noticed insects on the table and near the kitchenware. We couldn’t stand being there, the just thought of sleeping there and having bugs all over the place, even ON OUR BEDS, was something extremely traumatic. I’ve stayed in some rough hostels in my time but this place is in a league of its own. My room was absolutely revolting, with dirty clothes and old food lying around. I was told to ask reception if I wanted a blanket. There was vomit in the bathroom sink and faeces on the toilet seat. There were cockroaches throughout, including the kitchen area. The outside area was piled with empty bottles and fast food wrappers. It seemed like most of the guests were long-term and could do as they pleased. It was weird because they were actually pretty friendly, but it’s still intimidating to be basically surrounded by drunk strangers whilst you’re in bed. Staff were non-existent past about 10pm. People were in and out of the rooms drinking, using drugs, playing loud music and partying until at least 1:30am. The window was also wedged wide open onto a street where people were drunk and shouting. I actually didn’t feel 100% safe. Even with earplugs, I got about 3 hours sleep before people got back in from a rave at about 5:30am. I was supposed to be there for three nights but only lasted two. Asked for a refund but was told no because I had booked through Hostelworld. I wish I took more photos. “

I only stayed here for one night, but it was more than enough to leave a strong impression. Huge shout-out to Nathan at reception, absolute legend. Super open, genuinely warm, always communicative and present. He really made me feel welcome and definitely added a lot to the experience; just like all other contributors too! The overall atmosphere of the hostel is very open and social: lots of connection, easy conversations, good vibes and fun. The facilities are excellent: very clean bathrooms (a big deal for me), rain showers, a really nice outdoor area you can use anytime, and a kitchen that’s basically open 24/7. Everything felt well maintained and comfortable. Great people, great energy, and a team that truly makes the difference. I’d happily stay here again.
